MEC Group Upgrades Its Cooperation with DUT School of Economics & Management with a New Strategic Partnership Agreement
On May 20th, 2021, Liaoning MEC Group and DUT School of Economics & Management signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement designed to deepen the cooperation between the Group and the School in a ceremony. The parties also had an in-depth discussion on innovation in cultivating foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce talents in an era of digital economy and building a talent pool for the revitalization of northeast industrial base. Mr. Song Jinbo, Vice President of DUT School of Economics & Management, Mr. Cheng Liwei, Professor of Institute of Finance & Accounting and Mr. Xu Yanfeng, Vice President of MEC Group and Chairman of Export Times attended the ceremony.
The cooperation between MEC Group and DUT School of Economics & Management started in 2015. As an comprehensive foreign trade service platform based in Liaoning Province, MEC Group and DUT School of Economics & Management, another pioneer in integrated cooperation between the industry and research institutes, collaborated in various areas including MBA cross-border e-commerce practicing, high-end cross-border e-commerce talent development and start-up incubation through a series of innovation and entrepreneurship teaching activities, with an aim to shape Liaoning as a strong player in digitalization and innovation. As a result, a new talent development mode “customized” for high-quality, innovative and versatile foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce talents has been established. The signing of the new agreement not only symbolizes an upgraded and deepened cooperation between the parties, but also marks the beginning of a new journey toward further integration of industry and education sector in terms of talent cultivation.
In the years to come, guided by the principles of complementary advantages and shared resources, the parties will make proactive explorations in new approaches and new pathways to utilize each other’s advantages in student internship, project cooperation, subject research, etc. under the new normal of cross-border trading. The common goal is to further facilitate organic integration of education chain and talent chain with industrial chain and innovation chain, to promote coordinated development of talent-driven growth and innovation-driven growth, so as to make more contributions to the high-quality development of Liaoning Province and the revitalization of northeast industrial base.
DUT School of Economics & Management is the 106th business school that has been accredited by all of the THREE world-recognized business school accreditation programs namely AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. For the moment only less than one percent of business schools worldwide have been accredited by the THREE. Meanwhile, the School is the 7th higher education institution in China that has been accredited by both the THREE and Chinese Advanced Management Education Accreditation (CAMEA), meeting both international and national standards for top class business schools.
Case Study: Cooperation between MEC Group and DUT School of Economics & Management
1. On December 30th, 2015, MEC Group was designated by DUT Department of Management & Economics as “MBA Teaching & Practice Base for Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. Since then, the parties carried out extensive cooperation in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and social services. Meanwhile, by utilizing their resources and functional advantages in teaching and e-commerce respectively, the parties provided a full range of services to MBA students from consulting, academic research, internship and project incubation to other training and entrepreneurship services.
2. On September 21st and 22nd, 2016, under the instructions of Dalian Municipal Bureau of Human Resources & Social Security, MEC Group joined hands with Dalian Talent Service Center and DUT to co-sponsor the first session of Dalian Cross-border E-Commerce Workshop. As the first response to Dalian’s urgent need for trained talents, the workshop was well received and actively participated by local businesses.
3. On December 17th, 2016, with the support from Dalian Municipal Bureau of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation, MEC Group and DUT came together again to sponsor a high-end talent workshop for China (Dalian) Cross-border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone. By giving full play to a training mode shared by the government, DUT and MEC Group, the workshop explored cultivation systems of cross-border e-commerce talents and therefore built a talent pool for the pilot zone.
